One of the longest running community projects in Milton Keynes will be marking its 40-year anniversary during the autumn, and it has a special celebratory event planned for the occasion.
Living Archive is a project that was set up to keep a record of the culture and history of Milton Keynes. It was launched all the way back in 1984 and is still going strong today.
Now, to mark its four-decade anniversary, it will be hosting an event called ‘Milton Keynes in Words and Music’.
This will seek to explore the rich tale of the town via a combination of archive texts, photographs, films and live musical performances. The venue for it will be the Stantonbury Theatre.
Residents of the town who decide to attend the show will find a fascinating mix of the old and the new. Among the artists who will be performing live are Jack in a Barrel, Milton Keynes Youth Choir, Milton Keynes Community Choir and the Living Archive Band.
There will be two concerts. The first will take place during the afternoon and the second in the evening. Flyer printing from shops in Milton Keynes is one way that the organisers of events like this can advertise them.
Brand new songs with relevant themes have been composed especially for the show. It is scheduled to be held on Sunday, 6 October.
