Milton Keynes embraces marathon challenge

The SixPack Marathon Challenge will offer participants the chance to run a fill marathon length race across six different sites in and around the city of Milton Keynes, in a series of events running from next month until the end of the year.

A full marathon comprises 26.2 miles. SixPack Marathon Challenge has identified six local trails that offer runners (or walkers) the opportunity to race against the clock on varied terrains and through picturesque countryside.

When broken down, each track comprises of a distance between 5 and 10 km, making the endeavour more manageable for runners of all ages. Ticketholders receive GPS running instructions and an audio guide of the local area. Local printing services will also help to provide some of this information to participating runners.

Participants race along ancient train lines, around lakes, along canals and through woodlands on each of the part of the six segments of the marathon distance. Local landmarks such as the MK National Bowl also feature along the trail, which makes the event more enjoyable for participants as they work their way through the trails.

Participants receive a medal to mark their efforts, as well as the satisfaction of completing a marathon in bite-size pieces. The interactive leaderboard adds a competitive edge to the event.

Tickets start at £22 with discounts for groups wishing to book together.
