John Lewis plays host to Marie Curie event in Milton Keynes

Milton Keynes' John Lewis store will hold a Blooming Great Tea Party to show its support to Marie Curie, the charity dedicated to helping those suffering from terminal illness.

The Blooming Great Tea Party is the charity's summer fundraising event and is designed to encourage people to come together for a tea party, tea break, or bake sale, to raise funds. Customers will be able to meet the charity's staff and volunteers on the day.

The event takes place on 9th June and John Lewis will be supporting the event nationwide. It hasn't been endorsed on a nationwide level by a retail chain of this size before.

Customers visiting the store on the day will meet fundraisers from Marie Curie and be given further details on how to host tea parties.

Head of Milton Keynes' Branch Paul Hunt said

“We’re really proud to be supporting Marie Curie’s Blooming Great Tea Party campaign and I know everyone at John Lewis Milton Keynes is looking forward to welcoming customers to our own tea party in The Place to Eat.”

The event will take place from 10am-4pm and it will be employing local printing services, such as graphic design and digital copying to spread word of the event; but certainly, the backing from John Lewis will undoubtedly help with its marketing efforts.
