Nadia Clifford will be taking on the title role, with Tim Delap playing the supporting Mr Rochester. Sally Cookson's show is sure to captivate audiences as it centres on the central character's battle for fulfillment and freedom.
From Jane's orphaned childhood, we see her tackle life's problems, making her way through poverty and injustice before making a decision to pursue her dreams.
Cookson said that adapting a story for theatre is a considerable challenge, especially when it comes to a novel regarded as among the most popular in history.
She added:
"It is always daunting when you're working on a story which everyone knows so well, because you want to surprise and maybe challenge people's expectations, without losing any of the things which make them like the story in the first place."
The production team will be focused on promoting the show nearer the time, with Flyers, Brochures, and other print advertising formats likely to be used to generate publicity.
Evening shows began yesterday and continue until this Saturday, July 15, beginning at 7:15 pm, with matinee performances at 2:00 pm.
