Folk artist fixes Milton Keynes date

The instrumentalist and producer Johanna Warren is on tour and due to play a gig in Milton Keynes at the beginning of November.



Warren started out as a singer/songwriter in The Sticklips, a psych-folk outfit based in Brooklyn. They released a couple of records prior to breaking up in 2012. This was followed by a period spent singing backing vocals for Iron & Wine.

Warren’s debut album Fates was released in 2013. Since this time, she has toured almost constantly. However, this hasn’t detracted from her output. In 2015, she released the critically acclaimed sophomore LP ‘nümün’, a record that established the folk singer's reputation as an artist on the up.

2016 saw her announce twin albums, with one song on ‘Gemini I’ corresponding with another on ‘Gemini II’, the latter appearing in 2018. They constitute a conversation in which two conflicting personalities seek acceptance.

She followed up ‘Gemini II’ with her Plant Medicine tour and, in between stops, recorded her most recent album in various US studios. The resulting ‘Chaotic Good’ was a self-production and constituted a change of direction, marking a new creative phase.
