Driving workplace innovation in Milton Keynes

The University of Nottingham's Institute for Advanced Manufacturing is due to hold a two-day workshop in Milton Keynes early in July.

The workshop on ‘Driving Innovation in the Workplace through Lean Six Sigma’, which is part of the Aerospace UP project, seeks to help local SMEs unlock their potential, to learn how to innovate and enhance efficiency through product development, new processes and improved supply chain capabilities.

It is an interactive session, introducing lean thinking and demonstrating the Six Sigma managerial system. Led by a Master Practitioner across two sessions, it will cover strategy, setting and implementation, staff connection and delivery. The participants then have time to apply the techniques in their own working environment, returning a week later to deliver feedback.

Other topics of particular interest include value and waste identification, SIPOC, workflow standardisation and process flow mapping as well as the fundamentals of the Toyota Production System methodology.

This event is free but has a limit of 22 places with attendance limited to one employee per SME. It is advisable to both register in advance and to bring along some extra Business Cards.

The two-day interactive workshop, ‘Driving Innovation in the Workplace through Lean Six Sigma’ will take between 10am and 4pm on Friday 10th July and Friday 17th July at the Novatel Hotel in Milton Keynes.
