This sum was generated through last year’s successful event, which saw record numbers of residents turn out to participate in the event or cheer from the sidelines.
Andy Hully, its director, said:
“We’re delighted to be able to raise awareness of a charity that supports so many adults and children in developing a healthy and active lifestyle.
“MK Dons SET is a really worthwhile cause and it can make a big difference. We’re proud to support a charity that is close to our hearts.”
The charity provides services like programmes to tackle obesity, mini football, coaching and holiday courses for the 50,000-plus children and adults that access it every year.
These activities are provided through partnerships with the local council, schools in the area and NHS: MK, among others.
It was the 2014 marathon’s chosen charity, and other good causes in the town will benefit in the future, as the popular event is set to be held again this year – on the May Bank Holiday Monday.
As with other events in the town, the organisers can use flyer printing in Milton Keynes to promote the MK Marathon to locals in the weeks and months leading up to it.
