If given the go ahead, the revamp would lead to the construction of over 300 houses, a restaurant, convenience store, pub, nursery and a marina with 100 berths at the 15-acre site by the canal.
The hope is that the marina will be the beginning of a canal link between Milton Keynes and Bedford in the longer-term. Architects behind the proposal have spent a year developing their knowledge of the area before its completion.
MK Development Partnership drew up the Plans, having been put together by the council in order to help with the implementation of its local development vision, and should it get the green light, it is hoped that work can begin in 2016.
Charles MacDonald, chief executive of MK Development Partnership, told the Milton Keynes Citizen:
“We are incredibly excited by developer Crest Nicholson’s proposals for the site and the positive impact this development will have on Campbell Park, the surrounding area and Milton Keynes as a whole.”
Those behind the project would be able to rely on brochure printers in Milton Keynes to create attractive Brochures detailing the different amenities, once the development is complete.
It is expected that the next step will be a process of consultation with residents of the city, ahead of building work actually starting.
