Ken Speed, a gardener, and Charlotte Little, a nurse, both enjoyed wins at the annual Great British National Care Awards ceremony, which took place in Birmingham recently.
Employees of Milton Keynes-based PJ Care, the pair received their awards from the host for the evening, Steve Walls.
PJ Care runs two local centres offering neurological care, and it will have the option of using brochure printers in Milton Keynes if it wants to update its leaflets to include this acknowledgment of its standards.
Ken received the Ancillary Care Worker of the Year prize, while Charlotte’s award was for Good Nurse of the Year, and afterwards judges stated that:
“Charlotte’s passion for caring and really making a difference to someone’s life shone through.
“She is resourceful, positive and dedicated in getting to know the people she supports.”
She originally worked for the company in the role of registered nurse, however managers subsequently noted her enthusiasm, energy and knowledge, and promoted her to the position of Lead Nurse, enabling her to take charge of a neurology team.
Charlotte works from the Mallard House facility run by PJ Care at Grange Farm, but the company has a second care centre at Shenley Lodge.
