This event will take place in the Arena: MK venue and more than 100 different colleges, providers and enterprises will participate. The army, Volvo, Volkswagen, Kaplan, the Royal Mail and Milton Keynes Council are among those who will be represented.
The purpose behind it is to show the benefits that apprenticeships can offer, both to the apprentice and the employer. It will be open to groups from schools in the area between 9:30 am and 3:30 pm during the two days, with the period between 5:00 pm and 7:30 pm on the first night set aside for carers and parents.
Iain Stewart, the MP for Milton Keynes, recently urged the Prime Minister to emphasise how important it is for young people to get good advice concerning their careers, stating that:
“We have a strong record in expanding apprenticeships but would the PM not agree that a cultural shift is still needed to demonstrate that high level apprenticeships are an equally valid option for students as traditional university places?”
Local events such as this often turn to places that can supply booklet printing, so that they have materials outlining what is on offer. The event will be held on March 14 and 15.
