What's Happening in Manchester, England…

Manchester to welcome grunge group

A renowned American grunge rock band are set to perform live in Manchester this summer.

The Ritz in Manchester will soon play host to US grunge rockers Mudhoney as they overcome tour delays to perform for UK audiences. The upcoming concert was planned to take place first in September 2020 and then again in the same month in 2021, but due to COVID-19 restrictions, the band were forced to cancel on both occasions. Tickets bought for the previous shows are still valid, however.

UK venues that need to update potential audience members of cancelled concerts and rescheduled gig dates often use expert poster printing services to produce professional notices they can display in their foyers and outside.

Hailing from Seattle in Washington, Mudhoney are regarded as having played an integral role on the grunge scene – a style of rock music that rose in popularity during the early 1990s with bands like Pearl Jam and Nirvana entering the charts. Nirvana’s singer-songwriter-guitarist, the late Kurt Cobain, stated that Mudhoney’s album Superfuzz Bigmuff was among his favourite recordings.

Mudhoney formed in 1988 with Mark Arm on rhythm guitar and vocals, Steve Turner on lead guitar, Matt Lukin on bass and Dan Peters on drums. Lukin exited the group in 1999 and was replaced by Guy Maddison, and the band has since maintained the same line up to the present day.

Mudhoney will now play in Manchester on September 7.
