American satirist has Manchester date scheduled

In An Evening with David Sedaris, the American satirist will bring his own distinct brand of humour to Manchester at the beginning of July.

This author and broadcaster is a Grammy Award nominee, and is widely recognised as one of the wittiest people around today. It is by means of his Books, diaries, essays and popular BBC Radio series Meet David Sedaris that he examines the absurdity of human existence as well as the pressures of modern living. He has sold more than 16 million Books in 32 languages.

It is humour that gravitates towards the autobiographical and is often self-deprecating, frequently putting a spotlight on his middle-class childhood, his Greek background and life with his partner Hugh in France. Common topics include family, relationships, travel, ageing and roadside rubbish.

Sedaris utilises skilful prose and a detailed observational eye to make the audience think, laugh and even, on occasion, become emotionally moved. He will be reading extracts from his latest stories, answering questions, signing Books and having conversations with those present.

Tickets range in price from £44.75 to £54.75 inclusive of a transaction fee. Print shops can assist greatly in the promotion of a stage show, theatrical event or literary evening.

An Evening with David Sedaris has a starting time of 7.30 pm on Monday, 6 July at Bridgewater Hall in Manchester.
