Manchester to revisit 80s with veteran popstar

Soon to be on tour with his new show called Roland Gift Presents 40 Years of Songs by Fine Young Cannibals, the singer and actor is due to appear in Manchester at the beginning of May.

Fine Young Cannibals was founded in 1984 in Birmingham by vocalist Roland Gift, bassist David Steele and guitarist Andy Coxm. Over a period of five years and thanks to two seminal albums, they came to occupy charts around the world.

The band's self-titled debut LP was released in 1985, delivering the top 40 cover hit Suspicious Minds. Their 1989 album The Raw and the Cooked then topped the album charts in UK and featured the two Billboard No.1s Good Thing and She Drives Me Crazy.

The band also picked up a couple of Brit Awards along the way, and have been nominated for three Grammies. They also won one Ivor Novello Award.

In celebration of their 40th anniversary, She Drives Me Crazy was recently used as Chanel's 2025 soundtrack for their handbag campaign, achieving over 320,000,000 views on social media.
