The American folk singer songwriter Tyler Childers is due to arrive in Manchester with his 'On The Road' tour to play a show at the beginning of march.
This 2023 Grammy nominated native of Kentucky began his career singing in Church and strumming chords on his guitar. He started to write songs at the age of 13, eventually dropping out of university to take odd jobs in pursuit of his musical dreams.
His songs gravitate towards the autobiographical with tales of his youth to more recently becoming a married man. These are told in a Southern gothic style, with tracks that encompass temptation, murder, angels and moonshine. It is a soulful bluesy kind of country sound in the vein as Drive-By Truckers.
His second LP 'Purgatory' emerged in 2017 broke through to mainstream success, debuting at No. 2 on the Americana/Folk Albums chart and staying there for 261 weeks. In total, he has released seven albums the latest of which, ‘Snipe Hunter', came out in July 2025 to rave reviews.
