A joint UK tour by the Scottish band Hue & Cry, and the singer/songwriter Roachford has scheduled a Manchester date early in October.
Hue and Cry was formed by the Kane brothers in 1984, and their initial album ‘Seduced and Abandoned’ (1987) included the UK Top Ten single ‘Labour of Love'. 'Remote', their second LP, consolidated this success by delivering the huge hit ‘Looking for Linda’. Success that continued into the 90's with albums such as 'Showtime' and ‘Stars Crash Down’.
The duo has achieved global record sales of more than two million, shared a stage with the likes of U2 and Madonna, and received a prestigious Scottish 'Outstanding Achievement Award'.
Roachford is one of the most important soul artists to emerge out of the UK. His hit single, “Cuddly Toy”, went to Number four in the UK chart in 1988, and he has 10 studio albums under his belt, Indeed, he is a much sought after as a songwriter, notably by Joss Stone and Chaka Khan, all whilst continuing to tour.
