What's Happening in Manchester, England…

Legendary rockers return to Manchester

Manchester will play host to a celebrated English rock band this year.

Music fans suffered a serious blow when The Who’s 2020 concert was cancelled. Last year, amid health risks from the coronavirus pandemic and after careful consideration, the band decided there was no choice but to postpone upcoming show dates. However, the British rock band has now confirmed the rescheduling of its UK tour.

Singer and guitar hero Pete Townshend commented that the decision to postpone had not been an easy one, but it had not been possible to go ahead with the concerns surrounding public gatherings.

The band’s lead vocalist Sir Roger Daltrey reassured fans of The Who that the rescheduled shows would definitely take place and would be “fantastic”. He urged all to keep hold of their tickets, as it could potentially be that last tour of its kind for the band, which first formed in London back in 1964.

The Who's renowned logo design features the Union Jack colours incorporated in a bullseye motif, and it was created by artist Brian Pike for a poster when the band played London’s famous Marquee Club.

The Who will now play the AO Arena at Victoria Station Approach in Manchester on March 29, 2021. Doors will open at 6pm, and any tickets purchased for the original tour date will be honoured at the rescheduled event.
