Brass band to celebrate iconic album in Manchester
A brass band will be honouring a beloved album by a Sheffield rock group this September.
Fans of the Arctic Monkeys in Manchester will soon get to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the group’s fifth studio album “AM” in style. A 10-piece brass orchestra will be performing the entirety of the anthemic release at the Blues Kitchen on Quay Street.
As well as being the title of one of their most successful albums, AM is also featured in the Arctic Monkey’s renowned logo design which features a sound wave spelling out the band’s initials. AM was recorded in Joshua Tree, California and includes many special guest artists including Pete Thomas, Elvis Costello’s drummer, and Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age.
Those attending can expect to hear brass renditions of classic Arctic Monkeys tracks including 'Do I Wanna Know?', 'Arabella', 'R U Mine?', 'I Wanna Be Yours', 'Number 1 Party Song' and 'Knee Socks', along with some classic tracks from the band sourced from their other albums. The gig will also feature a bespoke light show in honour of the album’s 10th birthday.
The brass band concert will take place at the Blues Kitchen in Manchester on Friday, September 8, starting at 7pm and ending at 9pm. The show is strictly for those aged 18 and over.
