The City of London is set to get another two tower blocks, with the confirmation that planning permission for both projects has now been granted.
These two blocks will be constructed in Gracechurch Street and St Mary’s Axe, less than two miles from Aldgate. The one in the first of those locations is set to be 32 storeys in height, while the second will be 45 storeys tall. The planning and transportation committee for City of London Corporation approved both sets of Plans during a recent meeting. Among the reasons that were cited were the positive effect that they would have on the local economy.
The tower at St Mary’s Axe will be a mixed-use development that incorporates both office and commercial spaces. The latter are set to be based in the lower half of the tower. In total, it will provide floor space measuring more than 85,000 sq m.
This building will also contain other features, including raised walkways and an open space for the general public. The Gracechurch Street tower will combine offices with a public exhibition space.
When companies first move into the local area, they find that it is full of useful services. That includes City of London shops that offer Corporate Gifts, for winning over clients.
Tom Sleigh from the planning committee said that both projects would be outstanding additions to the area, as well as economically beneficial.Get a Free Quote for Corporate Gifts Get a Free Quote for Plans
