City of London railway station to be redeveloped

A key railway station in the City of London is set to undergo a comprehensive redevelopment, after the City of London Corporation opted to green light the Plans.

Liverpool Street Station is the busiest one in the whole of the country, and the scheme is intended to make it better for travellers to use. It will lead to the creation of a revamped station that features state-of-the-art facilities, but will also involve the construction of new amenities. These will include spaces for use by the general public, for cultural projects and for commercial outlets.

Among the changes that will be made to the station itself is the construction of an expanded concourse. This is intended to cut back on congestion at a time when the number of people using the station is expected to rise dramatically.

There will also be more toilets, lounges, lifts and ticket barriers as well as wider platforms. Other parts of the scheme will see new cafes, shops and offices added to the building.

When companies move into offices in the City of London, they often make use of local shops that provide business card printing. This can help them prepare for networking events.

Chris Hayward from the Corporation said that the scheme would really improve the Square Mile. He added that the new infrastructure would enhance the area’s reputation as a business centre.
