Presenter scheduled to entertain Ilford
A revered theatre in Ilford will soon welcome an English TV and radio personality to its stage to perform stand-up comedy.
Residents of Ilford and wider Essex on the hunt for laughs this spring can catch Tommy Sandhu on stage. The multi-talented performer has presented and carried out DJ duties, but according to event organisers is also a force to be reckoned with as a stand-up comedian.
Theatres sometimes reach out to graphic design services to help them create eye-catching posters that drive ticket sales.
Sandhu started his career using his voice. He famously replaced the venerable “Our Graham” on hit ITV show Blind Date. However, his face soon became familiar to the public as he transitioned swiftly to presenting in-person of programmes for the BBC and Sky. Radio stations were quick to capitalise on his easily recognisable voice though and saw him appear on the BBC-owned Asian Network, where his celebrated Breakfast Show enjoyed all-time high listening figures.
The upcoming show will see the presenter bring more than two decades of experience as an entertainer to the stand-up circuit, with what event organisers and critics alike are calling a fun, outrageous and energetic set.
Tommy Sandhu will perform live at the Kenneth More Theatre on Oakfield Road on Saturday, May 17. Tickets cost £18 and last entry is at 6:45 pm.
