Ilford residents to enjoy art exhibition

An art centre in Ilford is hosting a multi-media exhibition this year dedicated to the age of personal devices and video games.

Art enthusiasts in Ilford can attend this free art exhibition at a respected arts hub in town. Titled “Hiddenware”, the project comes from artist Robert Cervera and will be open to the public until mid-spring.

Professional artists sometimes reach out to expert business card printing services to create contact cards they can pass to potential clients when seeking new commissions.

In Hiddenware, Cervera aims to make hidden materiality visible and invites exhibition visitors to reconsider their relationship with the virtual world. The project has involved him working with local musicians and video gamers to co-create unique audio-visual performances that form an exhibition that blends sculpture, music, video and live streaming.

The exhibition takes video gaming sessions out of dimly lit bedrooms and places them in an art gallery. The installation is accompanied by a live score generated by an original instrument crafted from the liquid cooling tubes of personal computers.

Cervera is a Barcelona-born but London-based artist. After studying music at Spain’s Professional Conservatoire in Badalona, he later graduated from London’s Royal College of Art in 2014 with a Masters in Sculpture.

Hiddenware will now run at SPACE Ilford until Wednesday, April 15. The arts centre and creative studio is sited at 10 Oakfield Road in Ilford.
