Out of this world ballet bound for Ilford

A respected arts hub in Ilford will soon take audiences to the wonderful world of Oz in a dance extravaganza.

The home of the stage in Ilford, the Kenneth More Theatre has announced it will be hosting a ballet adaptation of the Wizard of Oz next year. Performed by Ballet Theatre UK, the upcoming show in February is inviting fans of ballet and magic to walk down the yellow brick road.

Theatres presenting ballets and plays often reach out to high-quality printing services to create attractive programmes ticket buyers can take home as mementos of performances.

Those attending the family-friendly show will see all their favourite characters come to life and dance on stage including Dorothy, her dog Toto, the Scarecrow, the Tinman and the Cowardly Lion, among others. A full-length classical ballet, the performance has been adapted from L. Frank Baum’s iconic story, and has been divided into two acts.

The quality of the production has received considerable praise from critics. Those buying tickets for the ballet can expect imaginative backdrops, costumes and sets inspired by the original illustrations by W.W. Denslow from the tale’s original publication.

The Wizard of Oz ballet will be at the Kenneth More Theatre on Sunday, February 4. The theatre is located on Oakfield Road in Ilford, and the performance will begin at 5pm.
