New art event to arrive in Ilford
Ilford will hold a two-day summer art event as part of a celebration to honour its 100th anniversary.
Art lovers in Ilford can attend a brand-new event taking place in the borough this August. The first occasion of its kind for Ilford, “The Mural Art Festival – InColour” will run for two consecutive days and is described as “A celebration of colour and culture”.
The summer launch is included in a special programme of events called the “Countdown to 100 Years of Ilford”. While the area was made a civil parish in 1888, it officially became the Municipal Borough of Ilford in 1926. As a result, it will celebrate a century next January.
Organisers of important anniversaries and achievements often count on professional banner printing services to create signage that calls out to major milestones and special dates.
The upcoming festival will assemble performers, artists and the local community in a lively celebration of art, creativity and culture, and will take place at multiple locations including Cranbrook Road, Station Road, Ilford High Road and SPACE Ilford. It will showcase 12 different artists who will be working live on large-scale murals between 12 pm and 5 pm.
The Mural Art Festival will run in Ilford from August 16 to August 17, and local artists are invited to display their work for free as part of the event.
