Ilford to host creative workshop

An upcoming workshop in Ilford entitled ‘Patterns’ will teach those attending new craft skills on how to design bookmarks.

The one hour workshop will be held at Redbridge Central Library and Museum on Clements Road in Ilford. The chance to learn new techniques such as block printing will be offered as well as how to create bookmarks from both fabric and card.

Adults of all levels of artistic aptitude and age are invited to attend with equipment and materials required for the workshop thoughtfully provided.

Local East London artist Jacqueline McFarlane will be running the event. She is the commissioned illustrator of two children’s Books and has exhibited her work in in Liverpool, Sheffield and London as part of a group and in shows of her own. Commissioned artists seeking work can take advantage of local printing services to create quality samples of their work to share with prospective clients.

McFarlane studied printmaking and painting at the University of East London where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree and also employs her abilities in activity workshops for her local community working with both children and adults.

The Patterns workshop is one of many creative events facilitated by McFarlane taking place as part of 2019’s Mental Health Awareness Week and will be held on May 17 from 11am until 12.15pm.
