Ilford school welcomes TV presenter

A presenter from a popular TV show has attended an Ilford school’s charity event.

The Clore Tikva School, located on Barkingside’s Fullwell Avenue in Ilford, recently welcomed Rachel Riley of “Countdown” at a fundraising dinner. The local school organised the dining event to obtain funds to cover the unexpected costs of the COVID-19 crisis.

The school has been vocal about its gratitude, thanking all members of the community for the aid it has received. Organisers of charity events can sometimes use flyer printing services to create colourful leaflets that spread the word of their fundraising campaigns to gather support.

As special guest at the dinner, Riley talked about her career, appearances on Strictly Come Dancing and passion for education. At the event, she commented:

“Clore Tikva is a school that I am particularly pleased to support, especially as it's very close to where my mother grew up and therefore, I wanted to give back to the community.”

The dinner was hosted by Yochy and Laurence Davis, whose grandchild attend the Barkingside school. They commented that they were thrilled to be offered the opportunity to welcome Riley.

A local celebrity in her own right, Yochy became famous during the coronavirus outbreak for her “Made with Love Chicken Soup”, a dish she distributed to over 100 homes throughout the borough and beyond.
