Ilford hospital unveils new equipment

A hospital based in Ilford has now introduced a new piece of technology.

A recent event at King George Hospital on Ilford’s Barley Lane saw local cabinet representatives cut a red ribbon for on an all-new Computed Tomography (CT) scanner.

Ilford North MP Wes Streeting and Ilford South MP Sam Tarry were taken on a tour of the Goodmayes-based hospital's newly expanded radiology suite. Along with the newly installed CT scanner, the facility also has two brand-new ultrasound rooms and an upgraded Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine.

Tarry commented to the Ilford Recorder that the additional radiology capabilities will enable the Ilford hospital to treat its patients more quickly, and he commented on how pleased he was to see the facilities services improved and expanded. Streeting had a more personal comment to share, however, adding:

“Having been a direct beneficiary of these services following my kidney cancer diagnosis earlier this year, it’s fantastic to see how patients visiting King George Hospital will massively benefit from the upgraded radiology department.”
