Ilford charity pursues new premises

A non-profit organisation based in Ilford is seeking support from local councillors to provide a new base for its operations.

The Ilford charity known as Supporting Humanity, which was first established amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, is now looking to secure itself a permanent premises from the local authority, Redbridge Council.

Initially created to provide both food and much-needed support around Newham and Ilford communities at the beginning of the outbreak last year, the not-for-profit organisation has since expanded to reach people in other boroughs of East London, and it has switched its focus to tackling what the group refers to as a growing crisis of mental health.

Charity and non-profit organisations can sometimes use poster printing services to create promotional material for their campaigns that raise awareness of issues among local communities.

Supporting Humanity launched a dedicated phone line in order to provide support for mental health issues, and it has held three events entitled “Let’s Talk in the Park” at Ilford’s Valentine Park.

Tahreem Khan, Head of Operations for the charity, commented to the Ilford Recorder that:

“The purpose of our Let’s Talk in The Park event is to bring emotional support and wellbeing to the public.”

Support Humanity’s new initiative to find a permanent address is driven by its desire to be able to offer greater levels of support to the community, including mental health services on a face-to-face basis and help for the homeless.
