Ilford athlete aids UK success

An 18-year-old Ilford woman has helped Britain achieve sporting greatness.

Angelina Cameron of Ilford in Essex recently assisted Great Britain’s official American Football team to enjoy success in the World Championships, taking second place overall. Sporting clubs and event organisers often look to professional Print shops to produce personalised trophies and awards for winning teams.

The young athlete has been lauded for her efforts by the local authority. Redbridge Council, leader Cllr Jas Athwal, commented:

“What Angelina and her teammates achieved in Finland is inspiring, she really is a shining example of where hard work and determination can lead.”

Angelina played as part of the Great Britain’s dedicated American Football Team and travelled with them to Finland to compete in the IFAF women’s world championships. While the British team entered the competition as the sixth seed, all players rose to the challenge, overcoming strong opposition on the way to the final, which saw them face off against the USA.

Cameron lives in East London’s Ilford and has attended local schools in the borough, including Valentines High School and SS Peter & Paul’s Catholic Primary School on Gordon Road. She has been playing American Football since she was six years of age and is completely committed to a career in the sport and plays it regularly. She currently plays for Croydon’s London Warriors.
