Cultural event to come to Ilford
Ilford will be hosting an outdoor celebration dedicated to African culture later this year.
Residents of Ilford seeking a rich cultural experience this summer may be interested in the event headed for the Essex town. A family-friendly celebration, the occasion is called the African Carnival and will take place in Barking Park this July. It’s organisers are now welcoming all living in the Redbridge area and beyond to attend.
The event is brought to Ilford by three associations, WAZOBIA African Women UK, Igbo Women in UK and African Parents in Europe.
Those planning cultural summertime events for the community sometimes connect with experienced flyer printing services to produce hand-to-hand advertising materials that showcase flags, colours and emblems.
The upcoming occasion will feature African dance, music and artistry. Activities planned include native root storytelling sessions for children, a show displaying traditional African fashion, food stalls selling a wide range of dishes from different countries in the continent and a football tournament designed for both parents and children.
The carnival is an expression of African creativity, identity and community spirit and encourages all attending to immerse themselves by wearing their most bright and colourful clothing at the weekend event.
The African Carnival will take place at Barking Park on Saturday, July 5. The park is based in Ilford and the carnival starts at 11 am and runs until 4 pm.
