Fulwell Cross Library is set to host an art exhibition and pop up fair to mark International Women’s Day.
Taking place on March 30 at the library in Ilford, the event will celebrate the local women of Redbridge through their artistic abilities. A set of hosted talks will take place entitled ‘Women Entrepreneurs’, where local female artists and business women will give short informative talks on their work and practices. Stalls selling local arts and crafts as well as food and drink will be on offer and there will be entertainment for children.
The fair will also feature an exclusive preview of the All Women Art Exhibition. This show will present the works of local up-and-coming artists in the community and will be hosted at the library throughout the first week of April.
Both the art exhibition and pop up fair are organised by the Barkingside Art Club whose Logo Design features a bee bearing a paint brush. The event will also act as a fundraiser for the club’s SEN hour, which provides free weekly sessions to children with special educational needs attending mainstream schools. These sessions are run by the club’s founder Eliya Qureshi and aim to improve social and art skills and encourage use of the library.
The event will take place March 30 between 1pm and 5pm.
