The High Street Heroes Awards are put together by Huddersfield Business Improvement District (BID). They are designed to honour those who work to make the centre of the town better, whether they work in public services, for community groups or for local businesses. Now that the final shortlist of nominees has been selected, it is time for residents of the town to cast their votes in each of the 13 different categories.
Among those categories are ‘teamwork’, ‘volunteering’, ‘health and wellbeing’, ‘hospitality’, ‘customer service’, ‘professional services’ and ‘community involvement’. All of the winners are decided by public voting.
When local companies win awards, they usually want to let people know about it. Huddersfield has shops that can supply new printed Business Cards that reference such wins.
The Huddersfield BID chief executive is Sam Sharp. He told Huddersfield Hub:
“Since joining Huddersfield BID, over five years ago, I have been amazed by the dedication and passion of the people that work behind the counters, bars, barrows, uniforms and desks in Huddersfield town centre.”
He then went on to urge people to take the time to vote for their preferred choices in the categories.
There will be an awards ceremony held on Thursday 12th November, at which all winners will be revealed.
