One of the most popular female pop bands of the ‘70s will be coming to Huddersfield next month, for their first show in the town for two years.
The Three Degrees have a dedicated local following, which should ensure that their latest Huddersfield show is another big success. The female vocal trio launched in 1963 and that makes them the longest-running group of that kind in the world. Along the way they have picked up some famous fans – most notably Prince Charles. The now-king rated them as his favourite group in the ‘70s.
Since those halcyon days, the line-up of the band has undergone numerous changes. The Three Degrees are currently made up of Valerie Holiday, Freddie Pool and Helen Scott. However, Scott is an original member and Holiday has been part of the line-up since the ‘60s.
