This year’s pantomime is set to be Aladdin, and the script for it will be the work of Andrew Pollard. At the 2026 UK Pantomime Awards, he won the prize for ‘Best Script’. That was for his adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, which played in Huddersfield over Christmas 2025. His latest work will see him team up with choreographer and director Rachel Gee once again, so it looks like audiences are in for a treat.
The Lawrence Batley Theatre will be serving as the venue for the show. This means it will be able to benefit from the expertise of the theatre’s production team Olivia Race and Becky Dash.

Speaking to Huddersfield Hub, Race stated that getting the performers to employ their regional accents was crucial to the appeal of the pantomimes. She then added:
“Pantomime is often a child’s first experience of theatre and we think it’s vital our community can see and hear themselves represented on the only professional stage in Kirklees.”
Among the actors who will appear in Aladdin are Sonia Wrightson, Pete Toon and Reece Carter.
It will run from 1 December to 3 January.Get a Free Quote for Promotional Products Get a Free Quote for Print
