Huddersfield is set to host one of the stars of the beloved television series ‘Auf Wiedersehen, Pet’ later this year, for a look back at his lengthy career.
Jimmy Nail first rose to fame as the lovable but dopey bricklayer Oz in that series and has since gone on to careers as an actor and singer. In the former category, he has enjoyed success with the likes of ‘Evita’ and ‘Spender’, while in the latter his chart hits include ‘Ain’t No Doubt’ and ‘Crocodile Shoes’. Now he has taken to the road with a live show entitled ‘Jimmy Nail: Stories and Songs’ that he will be bringing to Huddersfield.
Huddersfield Town Hall will be the venue for the show, which comes to town after a spectacular run in his home city of Newcastle, where every show sold out. Local venues sometimes turn to Huddersfield shops that provide poster printing when they want to advertise their upcoming shows.
This is strictly a one-night visit to the town, so fans will have to get in quickly if they want to grab a ticket. What they are being promised is an intimate show where Nail reflects on his life and career, while performing some of his most popular songs.
Nail will be backed during the show by musician Tony Davis, who he has worked with before.
He will visit Huddersfield on 8th October.
