The vocal group Odyssey is set to make an appearance in Huddersfield towards the end of January next year.
Odyssey was one of the leading groups of the soul and disco era, reaching a peak of success in the early 1980s. The band’s chart hits in Britain and America include the iconic "Native New Yorker", "Use it Up and Wear it Out" and the classic "Going Back to My Roots".
The band is now fronted by long-time member and musical director Steven Collazo, son of original lead vocalist and founder member, Lillian Lopez. Collazo chooses to work with an array of talented artists, musicians and producers, including veteran singers Kate “Kay Jay” Sutherland and Michelle John, as well as top DJs Louie Vega and Ashley Beedle.
This fusion of soul, dance, pop, funk, jazz and Latin rhythms continues to be popular all over the world. Collazo is seeking to introduce the band to a new generation whilst remaining true to its musical roots and classic sound.
Tickets for the Huddersfield performance cost £25 plus a booking charge, and it is advisable to book early. Poster printing can be a very effective way of making the public aware of an upcoming concert like this.
The Odyssey concert will start a 7.30pm on Saturday 23 January 2021 at the Town Hall, Huddersfield.
