New commercial unit plans for Huddersfield

A brand new development that would consist of a number of commercial units could be set for construction at a Huddersfield site, if the local council gives its approval to the scheme.

Park Valley has submitted an application to build these units at a stretch of land close to Blackmoorfoot Road in the town. If given the green light, the development would be called Crosland Court, and would be made up of roughly 14 units for commercial use.

These would range in size from medium to small, making them suitable for SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) in the area.

Companies that move into units like these can sometimes benefit from other useful services nearby. Shops that offer Corporate Gifts for winning and retaining clients are just one example.

The site that Park Valley wants to build on is Crosland Moor. This is a vacant brownfield stretch of land that was formerly occupied by a caravan sales outlet. The developer believes that the project will lead to the creation of jobs for up to 260 people, many of them skilled.

Talking to Insider Media, Martin Duckett of Park Valley stated that:
“There is significant unfulfilled demand for high quality commercial space for small and medium-sized businesses who want to expand and secure their future locally.”

He went on to add that a public consultation on the scheme was now underway.
