The festival is set to be a four-day event and is being put together by a local non-profit called Huddersfield Live. The venue for this year’s event has moved from St George’s Square to Greenhead Park, because the George Hotel in the former location is being redeveloped. However, the new setting is larger and will mean that there is more room for different attractions.
Huddersfield Live intends to exploit that to the max, creating a number of different zones for the various activities. Alongside the usual stalls with intriguing concoctions to eat and drink, there will be Welcoming Wellbeing and Community Corner zones this year.
They are to be occupied by local businesses, community groups and charities. These organisations can use colourful banner printing from Huddersfield shops if they need an eye-catching way to promote themselves during the festival.
A number of groups have already signed up and Sam Watt, the organiser, told Huddersfield Hub that:
“This is your opportunity to be part of the festival, engage with visitors, maybe gain new members, promote your group and perhaps raise a few pounds for your cause too.”
The festival takes place from 3rd to 6th August.
