Huddersfield to host festival combo

Huddersfield Film and Food Fest, presented by Adventure Cinema, is due to be held in the city at the end of July and the beginning of August.

This open-air event takes place over four days and consists of cinema, live on-stage comedy, specially made short films and local street food. The films shown will be both classics and recent releases, while the comedy is provided by some of the best-known stand-up comedians on the UK circuit.

A list of the movies on offer includes "Grease", "Sonic The Hedgehog", "The Rocky Horror Picture Show", "The Greatest Showman Sing-a-Long" and "Joker". There will also a wide selection of food and refreshments, ranging from gourmet burgers to beer, all curated by Street Food Warehouse.

Thursday night is short film night and features a special "shorts" showcase, highlighting the work of many local and regional independent filmmakers. This acts as a platform to bring new cinema to a much wider audience.

Adult tickets start at £16.50, with children 12 years of age and under getting in for half price at matinees. Of this fee, £2 will go towards supporting local film organisations. Flyer printing is widely recognised as a useful way of publicising film and theatre events in the local community

Huddersfield Film and Food Fest will take place between 6:00 pm Thursday, July 29 and 10:30 pm Sunday, August 1 at Greenhead Park, Huddersfield.
