Padel is a sport that mixes elements of squash and tennis, and it is growing rapidly in popularity throughout the country. One place where it has a particularly big following is Huddersfield, which is why the town has been chosen for the new centre. This facility is set to be located within the Tandem Industrial Estate, and it will be called the Padel Shed.
The building that is being used for it is the one that used to house the indoor football venue 5core. At the moment, work is being done to strip out the building so that it can be converted to its new use. When it is completed, the venue will measure 45,000 sq ft.
New entertainment venues in the town have to be promoted when they first open, and flyer printing by Huddersfield shops is one way to do that.
Padel Shed consultant Jack Williams told Huddersfield Hub that:
“Padel is a really fun sport that gives a great aerobic workout too and anyone can play it. This is an exciting new facility for Huddersfield and the centre should be ready to open later in 2025.”
There will be nine courts, as well as a cafe.
