Huddersfield Literature Festival announces line-up

The organisers of the annual Huddersfield Literature Festival have now confirmed the complete programme of guests and events for 2023, including two intriguing headline artists.

Linton Kwesi Johnson, the poet, and actress Celia Imrie are set to be the headliners for this year’s event. The overarching theme will be ‘music’ helping to link the festival to the Kirklees Year of Music events that are also taking place across the region. Among the musical offerings that will be featured during the festival is a multi-arts collaboration between soul musician Omar Lye-Fook and poet Cherie Taylor Battiste.

Music writer John Aizlewood will be interviewed about his book looking at the rock band Radiohead, while the Balbir Singh Dance Company will be putting on a performance. The programme is not all music-based though, as novelists Linda Green, Milly Johnson and Paterson Joseph are on the bill, alongside poets such as Helen Mort and Patience Agbabi.

Turning to brochure printing from shops in Huddersfield is one way that the organisers of local festivals like this can create programmes detailing the different events for attendees.

Speaking to The Bookseller, the director of the festival Michelle Hodgson commented:

“We’re proud to once again champion a diverse and representative range of talent at the festival, from leading actors to novelists and poets.”

This festival is scheduled to be held between 23rd March and 2nd April.
