Buxton House is situated on New Street, right within the heart of the town. The developers are looking to transform the existing block into a number of two and one-bedroom flats. A consultation with those currently living in the block was carried out two years ago, with residents voting in favour of moves to improve the housing and safety conditions.
In addition to the refurbished flats, the Plans include adding a high-speed lift that will cover all floors of the building and creating a better lobby on the ground floor. The entrance to this will be via Albion Street.
Now, draft designs showing off the Plans have been produced. This is where graphic design shops in Huddersfield can be useful to housing developers.
Speaking to Kirklees Together, Cathy Scott from the council stated that:
“The designs have been put together with tenant safety being the top priority and to provide quality housing in the heart of Huddersfield. Each apartment and communal area will be completely renovated, and fire safety measures improved across the block.”
Residents will be consulted again to get their feedback concerning these designs, but a date for that is still to be announced.Get a Free Quote for Plans
