Huddersfield businesswoman in contention for award

A woman from Huddersfield who runs her own psychotherapy business is in contention for a major national award, having made it to the final stage in one of the categories.

Laura Greenwood runs a clinic that specialises in wellbeing and psychotherapy services. She has been shortlisted as a finalist at this year’s Great British Entrepreneur Awards, which are sponsored by Allica Bank. Greenwood is up for an award in the category ‘Randal Foundation Entrepreneur of the Year’ and she will be facing some seriously tough competition for the prize.

These annual awards have been dubbed ‘The Grammys of Entrepreneurship’, which gives some idea of how prestigious they are. More than 800 people who run their own companies are in contention for awards this year. Business owners are honoured for their resilience, impact and innovation.

Speaking to Huddersfield Hub, Greenwood stated that:
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be named a finalist in such a prestigious award and for this category too, at what I believe is still such an early stage of our journey, only three-and-a-half years in.”

When local business owners win awards, they often turn to Huddersfield shops that offer business card printing. This is so they can get new cards that highlight the wins.

Greenwood went on to say that she had plenty of Plans for expanding the business.

The award ceremony will take place on 17 November.
