The ninth annual Brighouse Arts Festival, a local community event, is due to take place near Huddersfield in early October.
The event is to be spread over a 10-day period and will encompass everything from music and photography to theatre and dance. This includes folk and classical music, choirs and acoustic concerts, as well as heritage talks and arts activities of all kinds. The choice is diverse and should appeal to a broad spectrum of individuals.
Dame Patricia Routledge is among this year's headliners, as well as O'Hooley & Tidwow and Roger Davies, plus his band. Notably, Barry Smith, the celebrated local flautist, has agreed to perform. Two further names are, as yet, to be announced, meaning that five nationally recognised acts will be making an appearance.
The festival also features a Creative Art Challenge and those who send in their artwork can have it added to a virtual gallery. My Generation: Brighouse Baby Boomers is a heritage project supported by a National Lottery grant and focuses on shared memories, films, images, interviews and objects relating to Brighouse and Rastrick.
Ticket prices vary and should be purchased through Ticket Source, though some events are free. Flyer printing can be useful when it comes to gaining the public's attention for events such as these.
The ninth annual Brighouse Arts Festival will take place from Friday 2nd October to Sunday 11th October at venues around Brighouse.
