Plans for the first stage of what would be an enormous new housing development in Huddersfield have now been submitted to the local council for approval.
This project would involve a number of construction phases and would see hundreds of brand new homes built at three separate sites in the Fenay Bridge and Lepton areas of Huddersfield. The biggest of the developments would be at the HS3 site, which is not far from Hermitage Park and would add up to a total of 312 houses.
The other two proposed phases – HS1 and HS2 – would see 68 and 268 homes constructed respectively. The chosen site for HS1 is close to Woodsome Drive and covers 5.6 acres, while the HS2 phase would be built next to Penistone Road on a 23-acre stretch of land.
Brochure printing provided by shops in Huddersfield can help housing developers when they are submitting Plans for approval by allowing them to show what the completed developments will look like.
The Earl of Dartmouth is the owner of the proposed site for the construction of the HS3 phase of this development, which would be the first to be completed. The land falls within his Dartmouth Estate.
This estate has consulted with residents of Huddersfield about it and now the next stage will see the consultation process shift to being between the public and Kirklees Council.
