Historic building in Huddersfield to be restored

Restoration work is set to begin on one of the most historic buildings in the whole of Huddersfield, with the confirmation that a contractor has been chosen to deliver the project.

Henry Boot Construction will be in charge of restoring the Ramsden Building situated within the University of Huddersfield. In the heart of the town, it is considered to be among the most important structures in Huddersfield. It was launched by the Duke of Somerset back in 1883 and currently holds Grade II listed status. Despite that though, repairs are needed.

Now work to restore it to its original glory is set to be undertaken. The majority of this will be focused on the inside of the building to bring many of its most beloved features back to life.

The wall panelling made of wood and the carved staircase are just two of the features that will undergo restoration works. The aim is both repair and to ensure that they live up to current standards when it comes to sustainability.

When they want to promote historic structures of this kind to tourists, local councils often find that brochure printing by Huddersfield shops is useful. This can provide Brochures with all sorts of information.

Preliminary work on restoring the Ramsden Building has already started. It is expected to be finished by early next year.
