One of the most acclaimed drumming bands in the world will be coming to Huddersfield this spring, as part of their anniversary tour of the world.
Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers are a group that specialises in taiko drumming. This is a form of percussion that has its roots in Japan, with this group being Europe’s leading exponents of it. The band are more than just copyists though – they have been recognised as innovators in the field. Now they are taking to the road to mark three decades together, with one of the gigs set to be in Huddersfield.
The venue for the show will be the Lawrence Batley Theatre and people are being told to expect an unforgettable experience. The show has been given the name In Time, and it will feature a mix of pulsating rhythms, energetic moves and atmospheric ambient sounds.
The unusual nature of the show could help it to attract a big audience of the curious. Most venues in the town that host live shows promote them using Posters though, to ensure good crowds. They sometimes turn to Huddersfield shops that offer poster printing for help with that.
Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers have released a total of six albums over the years, as well as three DVDs of their live performances. They have also provided music for Hollywood films.
