Brand new Huddersfield entertainment venue planned

The transformation of a shopping centre in Huddersfield into a multi-purpose entertainment venue is now in progress, meaning it is on track to re-open to the public on the date originally announced.

The Kingsgate Shopping Centre is being turned into Kingsgate Leisure. When it is completed, the venue will offer a range of different entertainment options.

At the heart of the project is the construction of a cinema within the building. This is set to have six screens, with The Light company being in charge of operating all of them. This will be situated on the top floor.

Elsewhere, there will be a climbing wall and bowling alley located on the middle floor. The bowling alley will be equipped with a total of nine lanes, and the centre of the floor will also house drinking and eating outlets and gaming arcades.

The ground floor is where most of the bars and restaurants will be based. It will have a branch of Laser Quest too. Poster printing from Huddersfield shops is one of the choices available for advertising new venues in the town.

Manager of the centre, Jonathan Hardy, told a local source that:
“Putting all these different entertainment elements into one venue is, we believe, unique in Yorkshire.”

The newly renovated centre is planned to reopen during Easter next year.
