A tube station just a couple of miles away from Edgware is set to close for around six months later in the year, so that significant work to upgrade it can be carried out.
The tube station at Colindale is scheduled to be out of action for the entire second part of 2024, with Transport for London (TfL) keen to carry out major renovation works.
Among other improvements that will be made during that period are the addition of a lift that will allow people to get into the station without using the steps, and the construction of a more sizeable ticket hall.
Preparatory works have begun already at the station ahead of the closure. The money for the building work is scheduled to come from a variety of sources. TfL has provided some of it, while development firms in the borough and Barnet Council have also chipped in. The rest of the financing has come from the Levelling Up Fund that was created by the government.
Printing services in Edgware can help when local facilities are temporarily shut down for any reason, by providing Signs that can inform people of what’s going on.
This tube station is scheduled to close its doors to the public on Friday, 7 June. It is set to reopen during December, but the exact date is still to be announced.Get a Free Quote for Signs
