Proposals for the construction of a new housing development at a site close to Edgware will be able to go ahead, with the news that Barnet Council has decided to approve them.
This project involves the building of a block of residential flats that will be five storeys in height. The chosen site is on Moxon Street, in High Barnet, which is just a few miles away from Edgware. It is currently occupied by the Howdens kitchen supply firm, but that building will be knocked down and replaced by one that is set to contain 41 flats.
According to the proposals submitted, 18 of them will have one bedroom, while a further 18 will be two-bedroom flats and the remaining five will have three bedrooms. Other amenities that will be created to support the housing include 15 car parking spaces reserved for those living in the block and two for commercial vehicles.
There will be three points for charging electric cars in this car park. The Plans include setting aside 279 square metres of ground for businesses too, and Edgware shops that provide printed Business Cards could be useful to the firms that occupy it.
