Regeneration project near Edgware to go forward

A massive new project to regenerate an estate near to Edgware is set to go forward, with the confirmation that Barnet Council has granted planning permission for the scheme.

This project will see the Douglas Bader Park housing estate in Colindale, just outside Edgware, undergo a major revamp. Operating in partnership with each other, the Home Group and the Hill Group will carry out this work across a period of 10 years. All the existing homes on the estate, many of which date back to the 1970s, are set to be knocked down as part of the Plans.

The first phase of the project will see 38 new affordable properties constructed on the site. In total, it will involve the construction of more than 750 new homes on the estate, with the 272 affordable ones being built during phases one and two, while the 481 private homes will be built in the third and final phase.

Print shops in Edgware can assist local housing developers by producing glossy Brochures with colour pictures of the newest homes that they have constructed, to help sell or rent them.

Alongside the housing, the Plans for this estate include a central square for community use, with courtyard, lawns and a section for children to play in. There will be terraces on the roofs of the homes, as well as balconies.
